Jay Z 'eyes up acting role'
Jay Z is rumoured to be eyeing up a role in a Hollywood film.
The rapper is famous for his rhymes and marriage to pop sensation Beyoncé Knowles, but it seems he's keen to make a name for himself elsewhere.
Having stepped in front of the camera for a private movie to celebrate his mother-in-law Tina Knowles' wedding to actor Richard Lawson in April, Jay has reportedly caught the acting bug. Impressing Richard with his stint as a pimp in an afro wig, insiders say the Poltergeist star is willing to help the musician make the transition into movies.
"The family have been telling Jay he should get into acting for years. But with Richard's connections, Jay is giving it serious consideration now," a source told British newspaper Daily Star.
"As he gets older, he's exploring more and more things creatively."
Having a colourful past full of dramatic events, including being accused of stabbing record executive Lance 'Un' Rivera, Jay is said to have already garnered the attention of studios. And it's a part in a gangster flick that's apparently top of his wish list.
With fellow rap sensations like Ice Cube, Ice T and Eminem all having successful stints on the silver screen, Jay could be next to add acting to his list of credentials.
In the meantime, the 45-year-old is enjoying a well-deserved holiday with Beyoncé and their little girl Blue Ivy, three. The pair piled on the PDA when they were snapped locking lips in Sardinia, Italy, seemingly putting divorce rumours to bed.
The couple have had to dodge reports about the state of their marriage over the last few years, including claims that Jay has been unfaithful. These were only added to when he had a public altercation with his sister-in-law Solange Knowles at the Met Gala in May last year.
