James Van Der Beek to be a dad again
Actor James Van Der Beek is preparing to become a father for the fourth time.
The former Dawson's Creek star and his wife Kimberly announced the news about the latest addition to their family in a sweet post on Instagram.com on Thursday (12Nov15).
"So grateful to share with you today that we're pregnant with our fourth child!", Kimberly shared alongside a picture of her husband touching her belly.
The child will join five-year-old Olivia, three-year-old Joshua, and little Annabel, 21 months, who James helped to deliver himself last year (14).
The couple, which wed in 2010, planned to have a home birth, but Kimberly started going into labour before the medics arrived, so James had to step in.
"We had the birthing tub there and we had a midwife on the way," he recalled on U.S. show Live! With Kelly and Michael. "I started filling up the tub and my wife said, 'I think I'm in early labour', and she has them (babies) quickly, so I knew immediately to fill up the tub...
"She got in the tub, had the baby before the doctor even got there... I caught the baby (as she came out)..."
Unplanned labour situations aren't the only things James has learned how to handle - the 38 year old previously admitted becoming a dad has changed him for the better.
"I think fatherhood changes you from the inside out," he told People.com. "It's not this thing where you think, 'Oh, I have to be responsible, I have to take more on'. You just want to, almost automatically."
But, having a house full of kids has also left him with less and less time to himself.
"The other day, I had a morning to myself in the house and I didn't know what to do with myself," he added. "I had about 45 minutes before I had to go to work and there was nobody in the house. I had no idea what to do!"
