Heather Locklear shares supportive Charlie Sheen message
Charlie Sheen's long-time friend Heather Locklear has sent a message of support to the actor amid speculation he is HIV positive.
Britain's The Sun newspaper came under fire when it hinted a "major Hollywood star" was suffering from the disease. Despite not naming anyone, it did provide clues to incite readers to guess the celebrity's identity.
On Monday (16Nov15) reports surfaced that Charlie will make "a revealing personal announcement" on the Today show on Tuesday (17Nov15). Many believe he will reveal his HIV status to the world while talking to host Matt Lauer and Heather, who has known Charlie for many years, has reached out to the former Anger Management star.
"My heart hurts. Prayers for Charlie and his family," she posted on Instagram alongside a picture of herself with the actor.
Meanwhile Charlie's ex-girlfriend, adult star Bree Olson, has spoken about the panic she felt when she heard the rumours and the agonies of going through HIV testing.
"Recorded myself for half an hour being tested for HIV and getting the results. This is so stressful," Bree posted on Twitter.
She'd already addressed the rumours when they broke earlier this month (Nov15), asking people to respect her privacy. "There are speculations circling that one of my ex-boyfriends from years ago may have contracted the HIV virus," she wrote on Facebook.
"They are rumours and I know nothing more than anyone else.
"I, myself have been to my gynaecologist at least once a year since we split up and have always been tested across the board for everything and have came back clean across the board every time."
Charlie hasn't spoken out about the rumours yet, but top Hollywood publicist and crisis manager Howard Bragman has warned he could have a rocky road ahead.
"The interview could open up a lot of sympathy for him, but he has to be concerned about a fear of litigation from former sexual partners," he said to People magazine. "You don't take that lightly."
