Harry Styles receives praise from co-star Mark Rylance

Mark Rylance has praised his Dunkirk co-star Harry Styles, insisting he doesn't need acting tips while shooting his feature film debut.

The One Direction singer is starring as a soldier alongside The BFG actor and Tom Hardy in director Christopher Nolan's upcoming World War II drama about the Dunkirk evacuation.

Mark has now spoken out to heap praise on his young co-star, claiming "he doesn't need any tips" because he is "shaping up" to be a good actor although it is his debut.

He also complimented the singer's style, good looks, sense of humour and flair, comparing to him to seasoned actor Sean Penn, and added he wasn't acting like a superstar on set.

“What’s really surprised me is he’s really witty, really funny - he really makes me laugh," Mark told London's Evening Standard. "He’s been ever so brave, not making any fuss.

“He seems remarkable... one of those people (who has) - Sean Penn has it too - a kind of panache. I look at them and think, ‘How did you get that? How do you get so that life is easy?’ But he has got a lovely, lovely character. It’s a gift.”

Mark, who was only aware of who Harry was because of his 12-year-old niece, also mentioned that fans have been swarming the sets to get a glimpse of Harry.

"There are girls all over the place trying to get to him," he said. "He is one handsome fella with an incredible smile and eyes."

His comments appear to confirm reports which emerged over the weekend (16-17Jul16) suggesting extra security had been hired to deal with the fans. According to social media, some devotees in Holland had cut holes in barriers so they could watch the action.

The singer, who has cut his long hair for the role, has been filming in a variety of locations for the past couple of months. Production will move to Weymouth in Dorset, England at the end of July (16) and it has been reported U.K. fans have been applying to a casting call for extras to get near the star.

The casting agency is looking for men aged between 17 and 38 with certain measurements to play soldiers.
