Hailee Steinfeld: Group chat makes me feel special
Singer-and-actress Hailee Steinfeld loves being part of Taylor Swift's group text because even when a message isn't for her, it makes her feel special.
The 18-year-old star has a close bond with the country musician and even appeared in the star-studded video for her track Bad Blood. Taylor is renowned for her close circle of pals - nicknamed her 'girl squad' and including the likes of Karlie Kloss and Lena Dunham - and Hailee is still amazed she's part of it.
"There is a text group," she told Britain's Heat magazine. "I don't really use WhatsApp to talk to friends here in the UK. But we have a messenger group... Yeah, it makes me feel really important, too, because a lot of the time, like with any group chat, you might not even be involved in the current conversation, but you're getting messages and you're like, 'Oh yeah.'"
The promo for Bad Blood has gone down in pop history because so many stars appeared in it. Gigi Hadid, Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne, Zendaya, Lily Aldridge and Cindy Crawford are among the A-list names to pop up, with the video winning a host of accolades including Video of the Year at the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards.
Hailee is still astounded that she was part of the process and can vividly remember how excited she was when she got the call. "The coolest part was obviously Taylor (calling to tell) me roughly the idea of how it was going to go down," she smiled. "In the moment, it kinda went in one ear and out of the other, because I was like, 'Great, whatever, man. I'm in, like this sounds amazing. Of course.'"
