Gyllenhaal and Poehler will present at Emmys

Maggie Gyllenhaal and Amy Poehler will present accolades at the 67th Emmy Awards.

The annual ceremony is set to take place in Los Angeles on September 20 and will celebrate talent in the television world.

Now the first set of presenters have been announced, with former Emmy nominee Maggie making the cut alongside comedy queen Amy.

Joining them will be talkshow host Jimmy Kimmel, LL Cool J and Empire stars Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson.

Taraji is up for the lead actress in a drama series award on the night, battling it out against Claire Danes, Viola Davis, Tatiana Maslany, Elisabeth Moss and Robin Wright.

The actress, who plays Cookie Lyon in Empire, previously shared her desire to take home an award when discussing the prospect in May during a panel talk with her cast mates.

“I gotta win! I gotta win for history!” Taraji said at the time.

However, the show looking most likely to emerge victorious is Game of Thrones, which scooped a staggering 24 nods when the nominations were announced in July.

Emilia Clarke, whose role as Daenerys Targaryen has put her in the running for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series, admitted shortly after where she was when she learnt of her nomination.

"I was in the doctor’s waiting room - the girls’ doctor’s waiting room,” she laughed to Variety. “Being like, ‘Oh, good… I just have to continue this phone call with everyone giving me loads of congratulations and getting stared at by everybody else in the waiting room to shut the hell up.’ So it was absolutely brilliant, hilarious, couldn’t have happened in a better place.”
