George Clooney took his wife to visit childhood home
George Clooney took his new wife Amal to Augusta, Kentucky, earlier this week to show her where he grew up.
The 54-year-old Hollywood hunk - who tied the knot in Italy in September last year - owns properties in Lake Como and a mansion in Berkshire, England, but opted to shun such glamour to show Amal, 37, around Augusta.
The celebrity duo visited a Southern restaurant, where George sang Happy Birthday to a woman sat nearby, while they also visited the movie star's favourite childhood hangout, Magee's Bakery, where they sampled the shop's famous Transparent Tart.
Russell Dickson, the co-owner of the establishment, told Us Weekly: "They were fun as a couple. He loves the Transparent."
This comes shortly after it was reported that Amal has been taking acting classes, as she's keen to make a cameo appearance in one of her husband's movies.
A source said: "George asked her ages ago if she ever wanted to give her family a thrill and do a cameo.
"[She won't just] walk into a job without doing her research. She's been taking weekly acting classes with a private coach and loving every minute of it."
