Flockhart: I support Harrison 100 per cent
Calista Flockhart supports husband Harrison Ford’s decision to fly a plane again “100 per cent”.
The Star Wars actor was seriously injured back in March when a vintage two-seater plane he was piloting crashed into a golf course in California. The 73-year-old remained in hospital for more than three weeks before being released after breaking his pelvis and ankle, as well as sustaining a serious gash to his head. But five months on, the actor is back in the skies again, and wife Calista, 50, is completely behind him.
“He loves it, so I love it, and I support him 100 per cent,” she told People magazine. “[But it was a] really hard, scary time [for our family]. I think it just makes you realise once again that life can turn on a dime, and we just have to appreciate every second we're here, because you never know."
The former Ally McBeal star has joined her husband of five years in flight and cherishes the time they get to spend together cruising the skies.
The actress has son Liam, 14, from a previous relationship and she added to the outlet that he isn’t a big fan of his step-father’s most famous movie franchise yet. But she thinks the new instalment that he is currently working on could change all of that.
“He is very excited about seeing the new Star Wars now, now that he's a bit older," she smiled.
As for Calista, she is back on TV in Supergirl alongside Melissa Benoist who plays the lead. The star feels she has a different view of her work compared to her days as the titular character in Ally McBeal.
“I think I'm older and I think I'm wiser and I think my priorities have changed a lot," she said. "I'm still really excited about the new show and I'm happy that I don't have to carry the show."
