Evan Rachel Wood: It's OK to be bi!
Evan Rachel Wood has spoken up for bisexual awareness.
The actress has always been open about her sexuality, and often lends her voice and support to the LGBT community.
Now she's taken to her Twitter account to talk in depth about the issue.
"Actually I am divorced with a son and no matter who I am with I am #stillbisexual @ZipporahMorgan," Evan told a Twitter user.
"I can assure you that whatever "straight privilege" I sometimes get accused of having, gets erased by #biphobia.
"Remember, bisexuality doesn't mean halfway between gay or straight. It is its own identity (sic)."
Evan split with Brit actor Jamie Bell in May 2014, after 19 months of marriage. They have a son together, who was born in July 2013.
Prior to that, Evan was also engaged to rocker Marilyn Manson, and despite high-profile heterosexual relationships, she has always been honest about her dating life.
"I think in some cases people don't want to be labelled because they are ashamed to be bisexual. And this needs to stop
"I have battled with myself most of my life because I wasn't gay or straight enough. I used to think I would never be happy. #biphobia
"I had to go through the same panic and shame and depression a lot of people in the LGBT community go through
"-- but when I came out a new found shame took over. Bi-shame. Feeling like people are judging you all over again but for different reasons (sic)," she recalled.
The 28-year-old ended her posts by assuring fans that it's OK to be bisexual, and that you should never let anyone make you feel unworthy.
She also thanked MTV for supporting her by covering the story.
