Eva Longoria: 'I already feel married'
Eva Longoria hasn't started planning her wedding to her fiancé Jose 'Pepe' Baston yet, but she already "feels married".
The Telenovela actress and Pepe, 47, became engaged last December (15), when the television executive proposed to the 40-year-old star while they were holidaying together in Dubai. The pair had been dating for two years after a mutual friend introduced them in 2013.
Eva has told Us Weekly that she is not in any rush to plan a big wedding and feels very content in the status of her relationship.
"We have been calling each other husband and wife for a while," she commented. "The word ‘fiancee’ feels like I got demoted! We feel married.”
The twice-divorced actress was married to actor Tyler Christopher from 2002 to 2004 and NBA player Tony Parker from 2007 to 2011. She calls Pepe the "love of her life", adding her previous relationships have really helped her to appreciate her new romance with the Televisa executive.
“What makes my relationship with Pepe so much sweeter is that I don’t put pressure on myself or the idea of marriage as much as I did when I was younger,” she said.
“I wanted to walk down the aisle, I wanted a dress, I wanted the church. Once you realise a wedding isn’t a marriage, then you can learn to appreciate it more, and it lessens the expectations when you’ve gone through it.”
The Desperate Housewives star doesn't fret so much over little things these days either.
“I used to care so deeply about all of those things that peck away at a relationship," she said. "I know Pepe knows how to drive, and I trust that. I’ve found patience to relax and let go."
