Emily Blunt: Meryl Streep made me quake

Actress Emily Blunt has finally stopped suffering from "quaking knees" when she is around Meryl Streep.

The two women appeared alongside each other in 2006 fashion movie The Devil Wears Prada and they struck up a solid friendship. Meryl was there when Emily married John Krasinski in 2010 and last year the pair got the chance to re-team for musical flick Into the Woods.

"We have a great relationship," Emily told Britain's Hello! magazine. "I'm friends with her daughters and love her husband. She came to my wedding. It was wonderful to perform with her again and I was less intimidated this time. Still in awe of her but less of the quaking knees!"

The Devil Wears Prada saw Meryl play a fearsome magazine editor, with Emily her stressed-out and much put-upon assistant. Anne Hathaway and Stanley Tucci also starred, and there has been much talk about whether a sequel could work.

Emily would love to step back into her namesake character's stilettos, but she believes the project would only work if all the key players are involved.

Instead of obsessing about it, the 32-year-old star has focused on other projects. Her latest movie is called Sicario and as soon as she read the script she wanted to be involved - even though it meant trimming down her maternity leave.

Emily and John are parents to 19-month-old daughter Hazel.

"It definitely wasn't what I was planning," she explained. "I wasn't intending on working on something that soon but Sicario was such an extraordinary script. I'd said that I didn't want to work until August and this started in July, so what are you going to do? I couldn't let that opportunity go to someone else, as much as it felt too soon."

Sicario is about an FBI agent who is asked to help with the fight against drugs and co-stars Benicio Del Toro and Josh Brolin.
