Drew Barrymore boards TV dating show
Newly-single Drew Barrymore is back in the dating game - as the narrator of a new reality TV series for people looking for love.
The Never Been Kissed star, who announced her split from husband Will Kopelman earlier this month (Apr16), has loaned her voice to First Dates, a new programme which follows couples on first dates over the course of one night in a restaurant. At the end of each episode, the 'daters' will reveal if they are interested in seeing their partners again.
The series, produced by comedienne Ellen DeGeneres, is based on a U.K. show of the same name.
First Dates is the latest small screen project for Drew - last month (Mar16), it was announced she and Justified star Timothy Olyphant will star in a new comedy, titled Santa Clarita Diet.
The two will play married real estate agents on the Netflix series penned by Better Off Ted writer Victor Fresco. It is scheduled to debut in 2017.
While Drew's professional life is booming, her personal life has gone through a rough patch leading to her split from Will, her husband for nearly four years.
Drew and Will share daughters Olive, three, and 23-month-old Frankie, and the actress previously insisted their kids are her top priority in her life, despite the failed marriage.
"My life's mission and the only thing that matters as of now is that my daughters know what our lives were like, how we lived, and how much I love them," she told PopSugar.com. "For them to know that they were not just loved, but, like, ridiculously, utterly, life-alteringly loved. That's the only reason I'm here now!"
