Drew Barrymore and Will Kopelman officially divorced
Drew Barrymore is officially divorced from Will Kopelman.
The actress and producer filed papers to legally end her marriage in Manhattan Supreme Court in New York last month (Jul16), and on Wednesday (03Aug16), a judge signed off on the documents.
The pair, which shares daughters Olive, three, and Frankie, two, appears to have reached an amicable agreement, as the divorce was reportedly marked as "uncontested" in court documents.
Charlie's Angels star Drew, 41, and art consultant Will, 39, started dating in 2011, and married in 2012. In early April (16), they announced their separation in a joint statement, in which they insisted that despite calling it quits, their family would remain intact and they were prioritising the needs of their girls.
"Sadly our family is separating legally, although we do not feel this takes away from us being a family," they said. "Divorce might make one feel like a failure, but eventually you start to find grace in the idea that life goes on."
Drew has spoken candidly about the split recently, revealing it was a struggle to come to terms with.
"When you break up with somebody, you're like, 'Yeah, that didn't work', (but) when you get divorced you're like, 'I'm the biggest failure'," she told U.S. TV host Chelsea Handler in May (16). "It's so shameful and hard to actually go through that, even privately."
This was Drew's third marriage. She was married to bar owner Jeremy Thomas for just weeks in 1994, and comedian Tom Green filed for divorce months after they got hitched in July, 2001. The split was finalised in October, 2002.
