Dockery and Froggatt: We always get the Downton giggles

Michelle Dockery and Joanne Froggatt often get into trouble for giggling on the Downton Abbey set.

The stars are two of the show's best loved characters, playing Lady Mary Crawley and lady's maid Anna Bates. As good friends off set, the pair are sometimes struck by fits of laughter at the worst times.

"Michelle and I have had to re-do scenes because we couldn't look at each other," Joanne admitted to the British edition of OK! magazine. "It's one of those things where you reach a certain point in the day when you get really tired and something just sets you off. There have been many moments like that."

The period drama is in its sixth and final series, meaning it will wrap up for a final time in December this year. It's a sad time for the cast and fans, and Joanne admits her last day on set will be very emotional.

However, there's talk a Downton movie could be in the works, which lessens the pain a little.

"From a selfish point of view it would be great fun to do," she smiled. "The difficultly will be people going off and doing different projects - it's getting everybody back together. But I wouldn't rule it out. It would be a lovely thing to be able to have a reunion."

Speaking of new projects, Joanne will start filming two-part TV drama Dark Angel shortly after finishing up on the Downton set.
