Dennis Quaid's wife files for divorce again
Dennis Quaid's wife Kimberly has filed for divorce from the actor for the second time.
The couple has been married since 2004 but Kimberly called time on the relationship in March 2012 when she filed for divorce. However, just a few months later the pair reconciled, with Kimberly withdrawing her filing, and have been together ever since.
But on Tuesday (28Jun16), Kimberly once again filed a divorce petition in Los Angeles, while her spouse worked in Vancouver, Canada, on TV show The Art of More.
In a joint statement to TMZ.com, Dennis and Kimberly said: "After careful consideration, we have decided to end our 12 year marriage. The decision was made amicably and with mutual respect toward one another.
"We will always remain great friends and devoted partners in raising our children."
According to the website, the former couple has already agreed to the majority of how the split will be sorted out, including how their assets will be split. They also apparently plan to share custody of their eight-year-old twins Thomas and Zoe.
Kimberly is Dennis' third wife. He was previously married to P. J. Soles from 1978 to 1983 and actress Meg Ryan from 1991 to 2001. Dennis and Meg are parents to son Jack, 24, who is making a name for himself as an actor with roles in shows such as the recently cancelled Vinyl and movie franchise The Hunger Games.
In an interview back in March (16), Jack, who was five years old when his parents split, opened up about just how much he was affected by the media circus surrounding Dennis and Meg's divorce.
"It's one of those weird ages for your parents to get divorced. You're old enough to know what's going on, but young enough to be kind of naive about it. It's a whole deal," Jack told podcast Allegedly with Theo Von & Matthew Cole Weiss.
"It's hard to ignore when you're at a grocery store and you're checking out and you look at (magazines), and there's a photo of them with a little paper rip graphic between them. It's a hard deal."
