Debra Messing finalises divorce
Debra Messing is officially single again after finalising her divorce.
The former Will & Grace star lodged court papers in June, 2012, citing irreconcilable differences for her split from writer/producer Daniel Zelman. On Tuesday (01Mar16), their divorce finally became official, according to E! News.
In documents obtained by the site, it is revealed that Messing and Zelman actually separated in 2010, but were still living together in New York with their now 11-year-old son Roman.
At the time of the filing, the actress had requested spousal and child support, but it is unclear what the final custody terms are.
Messing and Zelman met in college in 1990, and wed in 2000.
Speaking of the separation to Ladies Home Journal, Messing insists she doesn't regret their marriage at all.
"I am at peace with the journey we've had," she said. "I feel like the 20 years we had together has been a huge success. Despite the fact that everything is changing, I think everyone is thriving."
Shortly after parting ways with Zelman, Messing began dating her Smash co-star Will Chase. They dated for three years until they called it quits in 2014.
The Nashville actor has since moved on and is currently dating singer Ingrid Michaelson, while Messing is focusing on her TV show The Mysteries of Laura and "not dating anyone at the moment," according to E! News.
