Chloe Grace Moretz celebrated 18th birthday and driving test success with marathon road trip

Chloe Grace Moretz celebrated her recent 18th birthday by taking a cross-country road trip with her brother's boyfriend.

The Carrie star hit the age milestone and passed her driving test last year (15), and decided to make the most of a career break by getting behind the wheel for a mammoth journey from coast to coast.

"I turned 18 and I, like, finished high school and I got my (driving) license, and I was like, 'I'm a adult', and then I didn't really do anything with it," she told chat show host Jimmy Kimmel. I didn't do anything exciting."

Chloe admits she was nervous about driving at first because "there were cars around me", so she opted to conquer her road fears by hitting the highways of America all in one go.

"That's what you do when you're terrified of driving," she joked. "But I wouldn't have been able to survive alone. I went with my brother's boyfriend, Nick... and we actually didn't get into one fight, which I was shocked about. I was prepped and ready to have, like, one big brawl... over a bag of Doritos. Things happen when you spend 12 hours in a car."

Meanwhile Chloe has a lot on her plate professionally, as she will appear in four new films this year (16), including The 5th Wave, November Criminals, Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising and Brain on Fire. It's all work and no play for her right now, but this suits Chloe just fine, as the star is not looking to get into a relationship anytime soon.

"I don't want to date older people, because I'm 18 and older people are more serious," she told Marie Clarie magazine. "Then I kind of realised, 'I'll go on dates. Why not?' And that's kind of how I am right now. I'm not looking for a while. At least until I'm, like, 23."
