Cheryl Fernandez-Versini and her husband are reportedly struggling with the language barrier.

The 'I Don't Care' hitmaker's cousin Tony Tweedy claims Cheryl and Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini - who wed last year after a whirlwind romance - find it difficult to communicate because she speaks little French and he is not well versed in English.

Tony told The Sun on Sunday: "The family think the marriage is over. When I asked if Cheryl was happy with him, they replied, 'Put it this way, I'll give it six months.' That was three months ago, and look what's happening.

"Cheryl can't speak French. I'm told he speaks little English. What sort of relationship is it if she cannot speak French and he can't speak English? They may as well have a threesome with the interpreter."

Whilst a source claims Cheryl hasn't talked to Tony in years, the 32-year-old beauty has been plagued by marriage rumours as of late.

A source claimed previously: "There are serious problems for Cheryl and JB. It's very sad and they're trying to make it work, but it could explain why she's clearly not in a good place. A lot of us thought she might move towards taking some sort of break earlier this year but she decided to give the relationship another go and try to make it work.

"But there's a feeling she's been unlucky in love and doesn't tend to pick the right men. Let's hope this won't be the most disastrous example of that ... There have been concerns raised about whether Cheryl really knew enough about JB to be able to dedicate her life to him."
