Charlie Sheen is selling his lavish Beverly Hills mansion for $9 million (£7.2 million).

The 51-year-old actor has put the property on the market for almost $2 million (£1.6 million) more than he originally paid for it, TMZ.com reports.

The mansion, located in one of the most prestigious gated communities in Los Angeles, was home to Charlie's famous wild parties where he allegedly indulged in drink and drugs with his numerous girlfriends.

It is also the same mansion where Charlie's Mercedes Benz car was stolen from in 2010.

Charlie is said to be keen to move away from Beverly Hills and relocate to Malibu to be closer to his parents following going public with his HIV diagnosis last year (15).

The former Two and a Half Men star paid $7.2 million (£5.7 million) for the mansion, and has upped the asking price by $1.8 million (£1.4 million) due its prime location in the area.

According to The Hamilton Spectator, Charlie is also considering a move to a retirement community in Mexico, in an effort to escape Hollywood life.

Scott Weier, an estate agent who reportedly sold the actor a property in Mexico, said, "It's just a humble little three-bedroom house, around 2,700 square feet. It wasn't too expensive.

"He told me he's planning on living here full time, he's tired of the rat race of the United States and his life the way it is. He wants to do something a bit different. He's looking for a change. Compared to what he has in Los Angeles it's very humble and simple.

"He's certainly not coming here to impress anyone with a huge mansion on the ocean," he added.
