Catherine Tyldesley's son will be 'spoilt rotten'
Catherine Tyldesley's son will be "spoiled rotten" at Christmas.
The 'Coronation Street' actress and fiance Tom Pitfield are excited about their first festive season as parents, and think eight-month-old Alfie will have a wonderful day.
She said: "I've always loved Christmas but this one will be extra special and so much more important than ever before because Alfie is with us now.
"We're putting together some gifts for his stocking and he'll be spoiled rotten.
"He loves anything to do with lights and music, so there will be loads of presents for him along those lines."
In keeping with her own childhood traditions, Catherine will let her little boy open one of his gifts on Christmas Eve (24.12.15).
She said: "We'd always open one present on Christmas Eve and we'll do that with Alfie too."
However, there is one ritual from her younger years that the 32-year-old star doesn't want to introduce just yet.
She explained: "When my sister and I were kids, Mum would wake us at 6.30 on Christmas morning and wipe our faces with a wet flannel, shouting 'Christmas'.
"It made us laugh and got us so excited. But I think I'll wait until Alfie is older before trying it on him."
