Caitlyn Jenner gets standing ovation at Culture Club show

Caitlyn Jenner received a standing ovation at a Culture Club show.

The 'I Am Cait' star - formerly known as Bruce - was met with rapturous applause as she welcomed the band on stage prior to their performance at the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles on Thursday (23.07.15).

Speaking to the crowd, she said: "Caitlyn Jenner in the house for her first Boy George concert! This is going to be a good group. Thank you so much.

"Enough about me. Thank you for being here tonight. This is so much fun for me. Let's hear it here at the Greek Theatre for Boy George! Let's get it going!"

And the 54-year-old performer seemed thrilled with crowd's reaction when Caitlyn arrived on stage to open the show because it showed his fans were supportive of her decision to transition to a woman.

According to The Sun newspaper, he told the audience: "I expected a standing ovation for her and I wasn't disappointed ... We need to celebrate the kinds of changes that are happening."

The 65-year-old TV personality - who attended the show with her rumoured girlfriend Candis Cayne - was returning the favour by introducing the band, as frontman Boy George is believed to have sung at her spiritual naming ceremony at her home in Malibu, California, earlier in the day.
