Brooklyn Beckham joins Twitter

Brooklyn Beckham has joined Twitter.

The 16-year-old aspiring soccer player, the son of Victoria and David Beckham, has opened an account on the social networking site, just a week after his superstar dad joined Instagram.

Brooklyn has already gained more than 20,000 Twitter followers within hours of singing up.

He shared a screenshot of his new profile along with a caption that read: "Follow me on Twitter :) (sic)"

Brooklyn - who will not return to Arsenal Hale End football academy next season - has only followed five people. They include, his mother, Reese Witherspoon, actress Chloë Grace Moretz, who he was rumoured to be dating, and two non-famous people.

Meanwhile, David has been getting on the Instagram hype and posted several photos on his 40th birthday in Morocco with the hashtag "#DB40".

His latest photo posted on the photo sharing app is of him on a motorbike, with the caption: "Early morning ride."

David - who endorses H&M's underwear range - now has over 5 million followers on Instagram within a week of opening his account.

Twitter followers can now follow him by the username @bjbeckham23.
