Blake Lively: 'My parents are our nannies!'
Blake Lively has revealed her parents provide childcare to her and husband Ryan Reynolds' daughter James.
The 28-year-old, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, has admitted she and the Deadpool star have extra help taking care of their 18-month-old.
"My parents are pretty much the nannies! They are the best baby nurses you could pray for. They raised five kids so they know what they are doing," she told Australian magazine New Woman.
The Gossip Girl star said she was lucky to have job where she could switch easily between work and baby, but confessed she found it tough.
"When are looking at your child and she's laughing, it's hard to do anything else," she said. "It's tough when you get pooped on and barfed on, but having a baby is wonderful. Even when it's tough and I'm exhausted I just think 'I am so fortunate'."
Her father Ernie is an actor, while mother Elaine worked as a Hollywood talent scout, and Blake's first film role was in the 1998 movie Sandman, which her father directed.
The actress hit the headlines last week (beg8Aug16) after she claimed new mothers shouldn't be pressured to slim down after they give birth.
Blake shared her thoughts on post-pregnancy bodies while promoting her new film The Shallows, which she shot just months after giving birth to her daughter James in December, 2014.
When complimented on her bikini-clad figure in the movie by an Australian TV host, she replied, "It's so unfair though, because it's so celebrated. It's like, 'This is what someone can look like after a baby'. I think a woman's body after having a baby is pretty amazing."
"You don't need to be Victoria's Secret (lingerie) ready right away because you just did the most incredible miracle that life has to offer," she continued. "I mean, you gave birth to a human being! So I would really like to see that celebrated."
Her comments came after fellow new mum Anne Hathaway posted an empowering message on Instagram the same week, praising post-baby figures.
