Beckhams ‘planning to renew vows at Lake Como’
Victoria and David Beckham are reportedly set to renew their wedding vows at a ceremony in Italy.
Next year, the fashion designer and her husband – who met in 1997, and married a couple years later - will celebrate 20 years together. And for better or worse, Victoria apparently wants to show the world the superstar couple has survived the ups and downs, and the constant rumours of marital strain.
“Victoria hates that people think she and David are unstable, or about to split,” a source told Britain's Heat Magazine. “They have their ups and downs, but she says it’s just like any normal couple.”
David and Victoria married in a lavish ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle, an elegant 14-bedroom residence near Dublin in 1999, dressed in Vera Wang.
“She’s tired of having to defend their marriage, and hopes this will put an end to all the rumours - proving the haters all wrong and celebrating how far they’ve come," the source shared.
In contrast to their first ceremony which came complete with gold thrones, the singer turned fashion tastemaker is reportedly planning an elegant ceremony in Lake Como, Italy, with many of the couple's A-list star friends set to attend.
The pair has long lusted after a home in the exclusive resort which counts Hollywood star George Clooney as a resident.
“Lake Como is top of the list, but if not, then Marrakech, where they celebrated David’s 40th. Or they might return to L.A., or just have a second event there,” the insider shared.
“Victoria knows how to throw a party and this will be quite something... She’s already talking about designing her own dress and they want to make sure the kids will be heavily involved."
The couple’s romance definitely appears to be on track, as the designer celebrated turning 42 in April (16), and David posted a gushing tribute to his wife: “Happy birthday to this beautiful passionate woman..... Have the most amazing day and let us spoil you because you deserve to be spoilt by your husband and our gorgeous children.. In 42 years you have been able to achieve so much and it feels you are only just starting .... Happy birthday we love you."
