Anna Friel not worried about ageing
Anna Friel is embracing turning 40.
The actress, who began acting at the age of 13, will reach her landmark birthday in July (16). Instead of balking at the fast-approaching big day though, Anna insists she isn't scared about it.
"I’m turning 40 this year (screams). No, I'm embracing it," Anna laughed during an appearance on British morning show Lorraine on Monday (04Apr16).
Anna can next be seen in the ITV crime drama Marcella, in which she plays the title role, who has two children aged 10 and 13.
She herself has a 10-year-old daughter Gracie, whose father is actor David Thewlis, and admits she would like to have another baby in the future.
"I have a 10-year-old daughter so I guess I always think, ‘Oh I wish I had another at that point’," Anna shared. "Whether I’ll have another in the future I don’t know… God willing, or if that’s what’s in store for me. If not I’m happy with my gorgeous Gracie."
Marcella is the latest offering from The Bridge creator Hans Rosenfeldt, and marks his first project set in London, England. The prospect of moving back to television was a daunting one for former Emmerdale star Anna, but she soon got to grips with her "complicated" alter ego.
"I was quite scared at one point. I said yes the next day because otherwise they’d have had to move on in the next few days," said the brunette beauty, adding, "And then I started to go, ‘Oh no, what have I done? I can’t play that, I know nothing about that world’," she continued. "And then slowly she (Marcella) started to come together."
Marcella has just been picked up by Netflix, who have acquired exclusive worldwide streaming rights for the eight-part series.
