Amy Schumer shuts down ‘thankless’ Emmys gig
Amy Schumer believes hosting the Emmy Awards is “thankless” in every way.
The 34-year-old actress, who presented the 2015 MTV Movie Awards in April, has received received four nominations at this year’s ceremony for her TV show Inside Amy Schumer, winning the trophy for Outstanding Variety Sketch Series.
But even though she respects the notoriety of receiving an Emmy, it’s unlikely the star will ever be presenting the famous show in the future.
"I don't think you get paid a lot, and it seems kind of thankless," Amy told ET Online of hosting the Emmys. "You get rewarded with getting to host again."
Amy became best friends with Academy Award-winning Silver Linings Playbook actress Jennifer Lawrence after they enjoyed a vacation together this summer.
And Amy has confirmed she speaks with Jennifer about mundane subjects most of the time.
“We were just gossiping and texting all day," she noted. "We don't talk about fashion much. We were just talking sh*t about some guys."
Amy has previously gushed about her strong relationship with Jennifer.
She believes The Hunger Games star is one of the greatest people on the planet.
“She’s the coolest chick you’ll ever meet,” Amy gushed to Vanity Fair. “She’s the best hang, she was like one of the gang.”
Jennifer and Amy are also partners in business, as the women are writing a screenplay together.
Jennifer thinks the script they’re penning is beyond brilliant.
“We’re almost done writing. It just flowed out of us. We’ve got about 100 pages right now,” she told the New York Times. "Amy and I were creatively made for each other. We have different flavours. It’s been the most fun experience of my life.”
