Amber Heard's bruises came from Saturday night fight - report

Actress Amber Heard has accused her estranged husband Johnny Depp of bruising her face with an iPhone.

The Danish Girl star showed up in court in Los Angeles on Friday (27May16) with a bruise on her face, claiming Depp had physically assaulted her.

Amber and her lawyer, Samantha Spector, came armed with photographs detailing various bruises, alleging the Pirates of the Caribbean star was abusive throughout their 15-month marriage, and requested a temporary protective order.

The last straw, it seems, came on Saturday night (21May16) when the actor allegedly hit her with a cellphone during a row. Police officers were called to the couple's Los Angeles home but when they arrived Johnny had left and Amber provided a report, but stopped short of giving an official statement about the alleged violence.

She left him the following day and filed for divorce on Monday (23May16).

The drama all went down after the death of Depp's beloved mother, Betty Sue Palmer, on Friday (20May16). She died after battling a long illness.

TMZ has obtained the legal documents Amber filed to support her claim Johnny threw an iPhone at her face on Saturday. She also asserts she didn't see her husband for a month after he showed up at her birthday party "inebriated and high" in April (16). She says they argued after guests left and he threw a bottle of champagne at the wall and a wine glass at her. Amber also claims he grabbed her by the shoulders and the hair and pushed her to the floor.

Filing divorce papers to end her 15-month marriage to Johnny, Amber cited irreconcilable differences for the split, and listed the date of separation as Sunday (22May16).

Depp is keen to get the whole thing over and done with as quickly as possible and has hired top Los Angeles divorce lawyer Laura Wasser to represent him.

A statement issued by his spokesperson on Thursday (26May16) read: "Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life. Hopefully the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly."

Meanwhile, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ, Amber is requesting the couple's home, Range Rover, and two pet dogs, as well as spousal support and attorney's fees.

She was spotted sobbing as she left court after a judge partially granted her request for a temporary restraining order against Depp. He denied her request to keep her estranged husband away from one of their dogs, Pistol, citing insufficient evidence.

"The judge reviewed the evidence we presented and he issued a restraining order based on the evidence he received, and there will be a further hearing in June," Heard's lawyer told reporters.
