Amber Heard has yet to report alleged abuse to police
Johnny Depp's estranged wife Amber Heard has yet to report her abuse allegations to police following a heated argument at the couple's Los Angeles home.
The actress filed for divorce from her The Rum Diary co-star on 23 May (16) and on Friday (27May16), she obtained a domestic violence restraining order against Depp, her husband of 15 months.
Heard appeared in court sporting a bruised face and told a judge it was an injury from a fight with Depp on 21 May (16), when the actor allegedly threw an iPhone at his wife.
Police were called to the couple's pad following the altercation, but Depp had already left by the time officers arrived and Heard played down the incident to cops, insisting she had just had a simple argument with "my husband".
According to TMZ.com, she did not refer to Depp by name and made no mention of his reported attack, and despite describing the altercation in her filing for her protective order, Heard has yet to make a formal complaint with authorities.
Last week (ends27May16), Los Angeles Police Department officials opened up about the house call, stating there was no proof that a crime actually happened.
Sergeant Marlon Marrache said, "On May 21, 2016, officers responded to a domestic incident radio call... The person reporting the crime (Heard) did not insist on a report and no report was warranted. There was no evidence of any crime. A crime did not occur so the officers left the scene and left a business card."
Police sources also insisted there was no evidence of any injuries when they arrived at the scene of the alleged fight. Had there been, the cops would have opened an investigation, regardless of whether or not Amber wanted to press charges.
Depp's lawyer, Laura Wasser, has already dismissed Heard's assault claims, declaring, "Amber is attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse."
Meanwhile, Johnny's daughter Lily Rose Depp and her mother, his ex-partner Vanessa Paradis, have also defended the star against the abuse accusations, with Vanessa writing an open letter in which she called the allegations, "outrageous".
