Amber Heard: Don't buy into rumours

Amber Heard relies on her friends to keep her informed about her marriage.

The 29-year-old actress wed Johnny Depp in February, after meeting on the set of their 2011 movie The Rum Diary. There is constant speculation about their union as both Amber and her 52-year-old spouse are pretty secretive, with the actress laughing about some of the rumours.

"It amazes me when I think about everything that is being reported about me and my marriage. I never read those stories myself, but my friends keep me informed about all the gossip. Probably I'm pregnant and divorced when this interview appears," she told British magazine Hello!

The star insists that the vast majority of stuff which is penned about her relationship couldn't be further from the truth. She and Johnny are as happy as they've ever been and she hasn't found making things official has changed that much.

"I'm very happy. Marriage hasn't really changed anything between us. We know each other very well and enjoy our time together. I don't think your sense of who you are changes that much when you're in a relationship or marriage. What's beautiful is that you're able to learn more about another person and that deepens your understanding of each other," she said.

Married life hasn't altered Amber's hopes and dreams. She's looking forward to getting stuck into meaty roles as her career progresses and doesn't think ageing will effect that in any way.

"I can't wait to turn 30 because every year that goes by I feel better about who I am. I'm becoming more confident and aware of what I want to accomplish. It's a good feeling. I try to follow my instincts and see where that takes me. I like being an assertive and self-confident woman who doesn't believe in conforming to all the myths and stereotypes that restrict our freedom," she said.
