Al Murray needs time off
Al Murray is taking some time off to work on his next tour.
The 47-year-old comedian - who is also known as the Pub Landlord - is set to embark on another tour of the UK next year but has admitted he's been struggling to come up with new material on the road.
He exclusively told BANG Showbiz: "I have one idea for next year's show and that's it.
"I'll have some time off, that's the thing to do because to be honest, I spend so much time on the road that the last thing I want to be thinking about is the next tour and I need to forget the old stuff and get the old stuff out my system and then start again."
Al also addressed the issue of the lack of female comedians in the industry and claimed he thinks times are changing.
He said: "I think there are plenty of un-funny men who earn a decent crust as a comic and no one goes on about them. If you're funny, you're funny. It doesn't matter what gender or sex you are.
"The truth is there were less opportunities for women to start with, so there are going to be less women, but it's nonsense."
