Affleck, Garner ‘like awkward strangers at birthday’
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner reportedly acted like “awkward strangers” at his birthday celebrations.
The Gone Girl actor celebrated his 43rd birthday on Saturday with his estranged wife and their three children. But following their plans to divorce, the outing didn’t seem like a happy one according to an eyewitness.
“Neither of them looked too happy," the source told People magazine. "They didn't even look at each other. They were talking to the kids, but they didn't talk or even look in each other's direction. They seemed like strangers – awkward strangers."
The family visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter to celebrate his birthday on Saturday at Universal Orlando Studios. The couple treated daughters Violet, nine, Seraphina, six, and son Samuel, three to souvenirs.
Ben and Jennifer announced the end of their marriage at the end of June, just one day after their ten-year wedding anniversary. While the reason for their split is unclear, they have reportedly worked hard to keep things amicable for the sake of their offspring.
“As always, it's about the kids and they will always put them first. Everyone had fun. They put them first no matter what,” another source told the outlet. "All Ben wanted for his birthday was to be with his children."
The family have also spent time together in Atlanta, Georgia where Jennifer is currently filming Miracles from Heaven.
"Ben and Jen are acting in the same way in Atlanta as they do in LA. They do activities separately with the kids and also together," a source told People, adding that they are in no rush to get divorced,” an insider previously told the publication. "[They're] concentrating on being a family right now."
