Adele cries as Hello debuts on the radio
Adele was reduced to tears as her comeback single 'Hello' debuted on the radio this morning (23.10.15).
The 27-year-old star appeared on the BBC Radio 1 'Breakfast Show' to promote the new release and revealed was felt "sick" and anxious about the first airing of the track.
Speaking shortly before the tune was played, the London-born star said: "I obviously want people to like it.
"When I wrote it I knew this would be the first thing everyone heard from me."
The Grammy Award-winning singer was terrified no-one would like the 30-second teaser of her new single, which was released over the weekend ahead of the official release.
She shared: "I thought no-one's going to know it's me. It'll backfire. When I looked there were three tweets."
She added: "I thought I'd missed my window. But then my boyfriend told me there were loads."
Adele also revealed she was keen to challenge the public's expectations with her new album '25', which is set for release on November 20, after spending four-years away from the music industry.
Reflecting on her absence from the limelight, she told Nick Grimshaw: "I want to surprise people. I don't want to say something for the sake of it. We've been sitting on it. There's been five people doing 300 people's jobs."
