Abigail Breslin: I cried when I met Zac Efron!

Abigail Breslin ran away from Zac Efron when she met him.

The 19-year-old actress first achieved notoriety through her breakout role in 2006’s Little Miss Sunshine – a part for which she received an Oscar nomination.

Since then, Abigail has appeared in films such as Zombieland and August: Osage County, as well as her latest role in Fox television series Scream Queens.

However, despite her fame in the acting world, Abigail admits she is anything but calm and collected when she meets her idols.

“I cried when I met Zac Efron and ran away from him because, well, High School Musical,” Abigail told In Touch Weekly magazine. “I also ran away from Ryan Gosling. Hmm, maybe this is why I don’t have a boyfriend?”

Abigail’s first acting role was when she was just five years old and starred in 2002 movie Signs.

While many child stars, such as Drew Barrymore and Macaulay Culkin, struggled to cope with their new-found fame and ended up in rehab, Abigail has so far stayed on the straight and narrow.

And the star insists it’s because she’s just a normal girl at heart that has enabled her to stay grounded.

“Somebody once pointed out that I never worry about filming, writing a book or recording an album, but I get totally stressed about a guy not texting me back,” she said. “I’d say that’s pretty normal!"

Abigail’s latest screen role sees her star alongside Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Jamie Lee Curtis in Scream Queens, created by Glee mogul Ryan Murphy.

She stars as Chanel ♯3, one of Emma’s sorority queen character Chanel Oberlin’s minions.

The programme is already being well received by critics and fans and Abigail thinks its success is due to the way important messages are being dealt with in the show.

“The creators find really good ways to incorporate [important messages] into the story and make you think about it, without realising that you're thinking about it," Abigail told earlier this week. "Which is really cool.”
