My wife is becoming a hoarder. She’s 42 and was always the type who couldn’t pass a bargain. But she’s starting to keep things that she doesn’t need.
They’re the most random things you could think of. I’ve tried to point out to her that our spare room is full and she’s starting to use our room now.
I watch programmes on television about this problem and I don’t want us to end up like that. I wonder what has triggered this behaviour. Can you think of anything?
Maura says: It’s good that you’re aware of what’s happening at this point. The best thing you can do is to try to get her to talk about what is going on, find out if she’s aware of her need to keep things she doesn’t want.
She may need professional help to overcome this debilitating habit.
