Zuhair Murad’s starry spectacular
Zuhair Murad unveiled a magical couture line in Paris today.
The Lebanese fashion designer stayed true to his luxurious aesthetic as models strutted in an array of glittering dresses, which sparkled as the light hit them. The whole set had a starry-night feel reflective of artist Van Gogh's famous painting.
Not one piece was without gems and glitter and all clung to the women's figures in a feminine, flattering way as they sashayed down the black runway.
Mini dresses added a fun feel to the line, with one boasting a ballerina-style skirt and a sheer top with long sleeves that almost resembled a spider's web. Another also featured a structured skirt full of volume, covered in what looked like shooting stars, while the top featured a slash down the chest to unveil the model's fair skin.
Sheer material featured heavily in Zuhair's line and one model wore a see-through gown that gave onlookers a glimpse at her high-waisted underwear, with delicate black stitching just covering her modesty.
Tones were mainly kept dark, with black, deep purple and deep emerald making up the main colours, with the occasional hit of scarlet.
The floor-length numbers made the biggest impact and to end the couture fashion week spectacular, Zuhair sent a stunning billowing white dress out in front of the audience. The bridal gown boasted a big skirt reminiscent of Disney's Cinderella and a gorgeous long veil, complete with glitter.
One of the outfits was shared on the designer label's official Instagram account, with the hashtags perfectly summing up the themes present.
"#firstLook#zuhairmurad #pfw #ParisFashionWeek#hauteCouture #star #spaceOdity (sic)" a member of staff wrote alongside a short black dress complete with a fur cape.
