Zac Posen wows with ladylike glamour for spring '17
Zac Posen wowed with a ladylike collection of dresses and pantsuits for spring ’17.
The American designer presented his latest line at New York Fashion Week on Monday night (12Sep16), showing a range of seasonal pieces in a palette of pastel hues.
Posen’s famous friends including the likes of Uma Thurman, Jourdan Dunn, Malin Akerman and Olivia Culpo were all perched in the front row, and were treated to a parade of colour and feminine style. The show opened with a crisp white tailored skirt and jacket combination, which was matched with pair of comfortable white sandals.
Posen continued with the conservative silhouettes though out, offering A-line dresses in a paisley orange print and a minidress in lemon yellow jacquard. Along with cotton wrap dresses in lavender and baby pink, Posen also amped the glamour mid procession with a white prom dress flocked with metallic polka dots and an ankle-grazing lemon grass hued dress with slight metallic sheen.
The 35-year-old left the showstoppers until the end, presenting a strapless dress with structured bodice and mint green 3D beading on technical mesh, as well as a flowing sheer floor-length gown featuring a pale blue and green rose pattern.
A white ballgown made of gauze fabric featured Posen’s signature tailoring, with green floral embroidery through the bodice giving the style an ethereal edge.
Models wore ponytails which were a little messed-up at the crown of the head, or in soft curls, while make-up was kept to minimum with eyebrows accentuated with a dark brown shade and lips coated in a dusky rose hue.
Following in Oscar de la Renta’s footsteps, Posen shunned high heels for the season and had his models all don gladiator sandals in colours to match each ensemble, injecting a new sense of ease and youth to the line.
