Zac Posen: Instagram is everything
Zac Posen uses Instagram to get feedback from his customers.
The American designer is known for his high-end eveningwear, which is often worn by celebs at showbiz events.
He also curates a more affordable line called ZAC Zac Posen, and says the photo app is particularly rewarding when it comes to that collection.
"It's complete, immediate consumer feedback and dialogue. It has encouraged me to add more separates, suiting and daywear, just from their excitement when I do post that,” Zac explained to fashionista.com.
“When I post a large gown, that has an immediate transporting romance to it — we sell off Instagram, even — but to see the interest in the more casual line ZZP gives huge encouragement to continue expand and grow it."
Zac reveals that the ZZP handbags, which are all under $600, have doubled in sales over the last 12 months.
Instagram is also a great source of inspiration for him. He’s a prolific user of the app, and loves to upload food posts with the hashtag #CookingWith Zac. The snaps have directly impacted some of his clothes, with porcelain china and speckled quail eggshells seen on some garments.
The designer recently unveiled his Resort 16 collection which was full of monochrome pieces, as well as a splash of colour with some stunning red clothes.
Leather featured cut out designs, giving the feminine collection an added edge.
One of the showstoppers of was a white crochet looking dress, with added tassels along the calf-length hemline and sleeves. Worn with heeled black sandals, the look was a glamorous take on the festival trend.
