Victoria Beckham loves 'flat top' sunglass trend
Victoria Beckham sees "flat top" style sunglasses as the next big trend in eyewear.
The British singer-turned-designer launched her eponymous label in 2008, and has since cemented her place in the fashion industry through her in-demand collections of chic separates and luxury handbags. Alongside her ready-to-wear line, the Victoria Beckham range includes denim, fragrance and eyewear, the latter of which the 42-year-old is particularly excited about. Of her sunglass line, Victoria says that she finds picking a favourite pair to be a near impossible task.
"I was into aviators for a long time, (but) I love the Flat Top from my own collection that I’m wearing at the moment," she told Vogue.co.uk, adding that she can’t help but rotate her signature frames regularly. "It depends on what I’m wearing or where I am."
Even with her extensive personal collection of stylish shades, the busy mother-of-four tends to stick with classic frames, such as the universally flattering aviator style. The style maven’s latest eyewear collections even feature her own version of the aviator, called the Classic Victoria, which comes with a choice of red, azure blue, violet or watercolour yellow lenses.
"I don’t like anything too challenging," she says of the frame shape. "I want to wear my glasses, not have my glasses wear me."
Victoria adds that a love of quality eyewear runs in the family, and the first pair of sunglasses she ever wore were a pair of her "quite cool" father’s Carreras.
And it seems an interest in stylish specs has been inherited by Victoria and her husband David’s eldest son Brooklyn, 17, who regularly posts photos of himself posing in cool sunnies on his Instagram feed.
"(He’s) been wearing the round mirrored glasses, and I think that seems like the cool pair for a guy," smiled Victoria.
