Versace presents pastel line

Donatella Versace's latest couture collection shows that her label has a softer side.

The fashion legend showed off Versace's new offering in France for the annual Paris Fashion Week - Haute Couture Fall/Winter 15/16 event.

Models strutted the runway wearing stunning designs, including a grey dress featuring a sheer bodice with grey and black stripes running down it and a floor length skirt made of ruched, soft grey fabric. While the look may have seemed romantic to the untrained eye, Donatella says that isn't the case.

"Not romantic. But we all have a softer side," she said, reports British newspaper The Independent.

As well as gorgeous designs Versace had some of the industry's top models walking, including Karlie Kloss, Kendall Jenner, Lara Stone and Joan Smalls.

The flowing chiffon designs, in shades like dusty pink, pastel blue and muted yellow, were complimented by 25,000 orchids set into the runway. Other dresses utilised violet, orange and green shades.

"I bought a few orchids," Donatella laughed.

Hemlines on the gowns were often frayed, to give a blurred, fantasy feel to the designs. Other dresses had lots of skin on show, with missing panels and low cut necklines.

"Construction and destruction. Like you mess your dress," Donatella pointed out.

The show attracted an A-list crowd, with the likes of Irina Shayk, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Naomi Campbell taking in the runway - proving that even when models aren't walking in a show, they still like to absorb new designs.
