VB channels personal taste in new line
Victoria Beckham's latest line is exactly what she wants in her own closet.
The British designer's latest resort collection is full of summery pieces, including a white top with short, billowing sleeves.
The designs are still chic, but with a more relaxed feel.
"I’m really excited about this collection- it’s exactly what I want in my wardrobe, these are things that I want to wear, and I think these are things that my customer wants to wear,” Victoria told WWD.
“When I’m on holiday, I’ll wear one of these little dresses [marigold empire-line camisole dress]."
The line also encompasses Victoria's denim collection for the first time. Picking out a denim jacket, Victoria tells the publication how she'd style it with jeans and one of her label's new T-shirts.
When the 41-year-old launched her eponymous label it mainly consisted of dresses, but she has dabbled in the denim market too. In 2004 Victoria created a line for Rock & Republic called VB Rocks, which was largely made up of jeans.
Going back to her denim roots has always been on her radar.
“It’s something that we wanted to do as a team for a long time. We’d been focusing on dresses, so it’s been great to be able to have jeans and shirting, [too]," she outlined.
Revealing she took inspiration from the circus for some of the resort collection, bright colours and loose fits are seen throughout.
Prices start from $215 for a T-shirt, and go up to $1,895 for a leather jacket with appliquéd flowers.
"[They’re] designer clothes, slightly less expensive, but without compromising with regards to design or fabric. We’ve had a lot of feedback from our retail partners that this space wasn’t being occupied by anybody," Victoria explained, adding she does not see it as a diffusion line.
