The Fashion Awards 2017 returning to Royal Albert Hall
Britain's Fashion Council (BFC) has announced that The Fashion Awards 2017 will be held at London's Royal Albert Hall.
A highlight of the international fashion calendar, organisers have now confirmed that the prizegiving will take place at the prestigious concert hall venue on 4 December (17).
Nominees will be voted on by a diverse judging panel, made up of over 2,000 key figures from all corners of the fashion industry. Awards to be presented include British Designer of the Year, Accessories Designer of the Year, British Emerging Talent and Model of the Year. A number of special recognition awards are also presented on the night, including the Outstanding Achievement Award, the Swarovski Award for Positive Change and the Isabella Blow Award for Fashion Creator.
BFC chief executive officer Caroline Rush explained that the event is the primary fundraiser for the institution's Education Foundation, supporting the future generation of fashion talent while also celebrating the contributions of current industry leaders.
"Last year's awards marked a landmark moment for the Education Foundation," she said in a statement. "It has been fantastic to see our industry reaffirm its support for education with such generosity."
As part of their continued and generous support of The Fashion Awards 2017, Swarovski has pledged $389,000 (£300,000) to the BFC Education Foundation. And Nadja Swarovski, an executive board member at the Austrian crystal company, has reaffirmed the importance of investing in rising talent.
"Young designers are the heartbeat of our business, and it's up to all of us to foster and champion their visions to keep our industry thriving," she commented.
Tickets for The Fashion Awards 2017 will go on sale from 18 August.
