Tabitha Simmons' film-inspired footwear
Tabitha Simmons' latest shoe collection was based on the movie Picnic at Hanging Rock.
The British footwear designer launched her first line in 2009 and since then her shoes have been seen on the likes of Cindy Crawford, Elizabeth Banks and Julianne Moore.
Her newest line has looked towards the 70s for inspiration.
"The collection is based on the film Picnic at Hanging Rock mixed with a 1970s flower-child vibe. I’ve used bright fabrics, colourful embellishments and broderie anglaise cutouts," Tabitha told Matches Fashion.
The collection features both fancy evening shoes and daytime looks.
The Elvy is a striking cork-heeled sandal, with precious stones running across the T-bar and block heel.
"The Elvy looks great paired with a light pink Dolce & Gabbana pencil skirt and cream cashmere sweater. The stone embellishments are a fun finishing touch to any outfit. I love a chunky heel.
"The Jasmine is a classic evening shoe. It is perfect for a spring wedding," Tabitha added of a heeled black sandal.
For a more relaxed look, Tabitha thinks her blue-and-white striped flats are a great choice. The nautical looking footwear features a delicate strap and navy patches over the rounded toes.
"The Neely is an essential flat for spring. It’s so comfortable it can be worn from walks in the park to running errands around the city," she advised.
"The Dakota lace-up bootie looks best paired with a dark-wash denim. It can easily transition from a day to evening look," she said of a pair of brown lace-ups.
