Stephanie Seymour’s new lingerie collection can be worn as outwear as well as in the bedroom.

Launched just in time for Valentine’s Day (14Feb17), the model has teamed up with designer Casey Paul to create a collection called Raven & Sparrow, a sensual lingerie line that Stephanie says shouldn’t be limited to the boudoir.

“Many of our pieces can be worn out, including the Madame gown, which comes with a slip to be worn as a dress,” the 48-year-old, who models her own designs for the campaign, smiled to American Vogue. “We also make handmade shrugs which pair beautifully with these garments when worn out at night.”

Raven & Sparrow hit shelves on Thursday (09Feb17), debuting at Barneys New York.

Stephanie’s own love affair with decadent lingerie began on her honeymoon over 20 years ago, after her 1995 nuptials to entrepreneur and art collector Peter Brant.

“Discovering nightgowns in Europe and the way European woman still dress for bed has been an inspiration,” she shared, adding she still wears the garments she bought from that trip.

“I’ve been collecting lingerie for many years and that is where I get many of my design ideas, discovering the craftsmanship in these old pieces.”

Talking about her partnership with Casey, Stephanie says her design partner brings the cool factor to their designs.

“She understands what I am trying to accomplish in creating each piece, but she always brings her unique perspective which is what I call the cool contemporary side because she is so much cooler than I am,” she admitted.

Prices for the collection range from $200 (£158) to $950 (£750).
