Stella Maxwell: 'I learned so much through my insecurities'

Stella Maxwell struggled with insecurities when she was growing up.

Despite landing the honour of Maxim magazine's hottest woman on the planet, 25-year-old beauty Stella wasn't always so confident in her stunning looks. Hosting a party for the publication's Hot 100 list in Los Angeles on Saturday night (30Jul16), Stella opened up about her battle to accept her looks because she was never the "hottest chick" at school.

"I think everybody goes through insecurities when they’re younger, and everybody has to grow into their body,” she told Entertainment Tonight. "We’re all in the same boat, so I think it’s a phase we all go through, then we grow out of it and grow into ourselves."

Stella has certainly come a long way since those days, and is more confident in her beauty than ever before judging by the snap of her on the cover of the new issue of Maxim, in which she wears nothing but a gold choker and skimpy thong.

Her blonde hair is left loose and tousled, and Stella uses her arm to protect her modesty by placing it across her chest. Speaking about how she gained so much confidence, Stella adds she wouldn't change her insecure days for anything.

“It’s a beautiful thing to go through those phases, because you learn a lot about yourself,” she explained.

Stella looked incredible in a cut out black lace gown and Giuseppe Zanotti heels for the party, which was attended by celebrity guests including Iggy Azalea, Amber Rose and Mel B.

The magazine covers were dotted around the star-studded bash, and Stella admits she was more than happy to have been asked to feature on the front.

“It’s pretty cool,” she said. "It’s a huge honour to be on the cover and I’m just really stoked and happy that I’ve had the opportunity to do it."
