Selena Gomez is 'happy' with curves

Selena Gomez is "happy" with her figure.

The 'Come & Get It' hitmaker recently came under fire from social media users, who speculated she had gained weight after she showed off her curvaceous figure in a series of revealing photographs from her holiday in Mexico on Instagram.

However, according to her swimwear designer, Draya Michele, the 22-year-old star doesn't care what her critics have to say and loves the way her body looks.

Draya said: "I love how she didn't let people being critical get to her. I love that she wanted to let people know that she's happy with the size that she is, regardless of who thinks it's fat or who thinks it's skinny, she was happy with it. Knowing her and knowing the size that she is, she's really not overweight at all."

Selena defended herself over the comments in a series of posts on the picture sharing site which have since been deleted.

She wrote: "IM IN the business and I could care less about what 'they' or you said I should look like. I don't need to do anything other than love myself, take care of my work, fans, family and friends...And I do work out. It's not your place to tell anyone what they should or should not do."

Meanwhile, Draya, who designs for label Mint Swim, has shared her top tips for finding the perfect bikini in time for summer and believes it's important to dress to suit your shape rather than "kill yourself" hitting the gym.

She told InStyle magazine: "Everyone is so fixated on looking really good in a swimsuit, and I think that is the first step to being wrong. First, you have to find the swimsuit that looks good on you, instead of working so hard to look good in a swimsuit. It's just easier to find a swimsuit that fits your body. You don't have to make any changes, or go on strict diets, or kill yourself in the gym. It's just a matter of shopping, fit, and style. Sometimes it doesn't hurt to do a little bit of altering or tailoring if something doesn't fit you quite the way you'd like it to."
