Rosie Huntington-Whiteley talks affinity for M&S
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley must feel a genuine connection with a brand in order to work with it.
The British beauty has teamed up with countless big labels throughout her career so far, like Victoria's Secret and Burberry. High-street retailer Marks & Spencer is one of Rosie's current endeavours and she's worked with the company for several years now, designing everything from lingerie to make-up as part of her ongoing collaboration. It isn't just about the financial rewards though, as the 29-year-old insists she's careful about selecting all of her business ventures.
"Everybody is so used to celebrity endorsement that feels inauthentic but I've worked for lingerie brands since I was 17," she told Britain's Harper's Bazaar. "It's really important when you align yourself with a brand that it's genuine. You have to look at the bigger picture."
She has no intentions of taking the money from a job then moving straight onto the next and she always questions what each fashion role means for her in the long-run.
Rosie's work with Marks & Spencer has seen her become a household name, with women of all ages purchasing her pieces. She's extremely proud of all her hard work, but much prefers behind the scenes than in front of the camera when dedicating time to it.
"Modelling has been so good to me and I've been incredibly lucky, but now being on set is the least fulfilling part," she explained. "What I really love is rolling my sleeves up, being in those design meetings, going to the business meetings, creating a brand from grass roots, being able to have input and a say, and offering my advice and my opinion on things."
