Robyn Lawley never restricts her diet
Robyn Lawley never restricts her diet before a photoshoot.
The Australian rose to prominence after she appeared on the cover of Vogue Italia’s June issue in 2011, and later because the first plus-size model to appear in a campaign for Ralph Lauren as well as Sports Illustrated’s annual Swimsuit Issue.
Robyn also has a keen interest in health and nutrition, and asserts that she focuses on eating well before any fashion job in order to look her best.
“I feed myself with quality food,” she told Vogue Australia, adding that she loves to have porridge or egg frittatas for breakfast. “I don’t eat anything ‘diet’ or ‘fat-free’, I hate that kind of food... I call myself a ‘qualitarian.’ I don’t really restrict myself.”
The 27-year-old does regular yoga sessions, as she finds the practice to be very peaceful.
But she also requires the physical and mental stimulation she gets from a dynamic workout.
“I need to exercise for my own self-esteem, and it makes me feel good and it makes me feel happy,” said Robyn. “As a species of human we unfortunately spend most of our days in offices now, so we’re doing something very unnatural for our bodies, and I think we need to make sure that we take some of that back.”
And the brunette beauty adds that her daughter Ripley, 22 months, whom she shares with her partner Everest Schmidt, also helps her stay in shape.
“With a child it’s definitely a challenge to work out and I don’t get to do it that often. I take her (daughter Ripley) on walks, she’s heavy and challenging to carry so that’s always giving my body a workout!” smiled Robyn.
