Remember Loewe's name after PFW

Loewe didn't want audiences forgetting which brand they were watching during its Paris Fashion Week show, with pieces emblazoned with the label's name.

The fashion house opened proceedings on Friday (02Oct15) with a chic, casual Spring/Summer 16 collection full of trouser-and-top combos, as well as quirky dresses. Designer Jonathan Anderson explained he had tried to infuse organic pieces with electricity for this range, and with bold designs mixed with simple pieces, he certainly achieved that.

To make sure customers wear the brand's pieces proudly, some featured the word 'Loewe' on them. For example a plain white long-sleeved top had the name printed in black and was paired with silver trousers. Meanwhile, a white dress with a black panel at the back had the title printed in red letters across it several times.

Although the clothing is aimed at next year's warmer months, the appearance of some pieces didn't seem to fit in with the weather. One girl looked ready to take to the ski slopes in a blue silk jacket with wide sleeves, with matching trousers that had yellow blocks at the bottom. With a scarf-like garment around her neck and sunglasses, the model wouldn't have looked out of place in the Alps.

Then there were more risqué numbers, such as a pair of see-through silicone trousers worn with a plain black top. Even the model's shoes were transparent, giving the illusion she was walking barefoot down the runway. Jonathan injected a further quirky touch with a goldfish resting on the model's neck, giving a discrete beachy vibe. This is how he merged organic with electricity, as the jumper was natural wool, juxtaposed against the plastic trousers in a vivid manner.

With his love of contrast, this range isn't for everyday events, unless the wearer is brave enough to stand out.

Paris Fashion Week continues into Friday, with Christian Dior and Isabel Marant gearing up to showcase new lines.
