Rachel Hunter: So over juicing

Rachel Hunter wanted to kill everyone when she tried a juicing diet.

The 45-year-old model tries not to obsess about her appearance, but it's obviously hard given her career. It means she is careful about what she eats but doesn't want to give in to faddy diets; not least because the one time she did, it didn't go well.

"I did try juicing once for three days. I felt like a truck had been parked in my kidneys and I wanted to kill everybody around me. It was horrible," she told British magazine Hello!

Rachel lives in Los Angeles, which is often thought of as the capital of plastic surgery. So far she hasn't had anything done, but that doesn't mean she has no insecurities. Although she is in fantastic shape, she's only too aware that people are raring to comment on her body.

"I look at my face and there are moments where I'll think, 'I need to get some filler.' I haven't, but will I get pushed to do it? Maybe. I don't judge anyone who does anything to make themselves feel better," she said.

"There is a lot of pressure to look perfect. For [this] photoshoot, I decided not to wear a bikini, even though I do in private. I said to the photographer, 'Do you know how much Photoshopping you'd have to do?' I love my body, I'm accepting of it, but I don't think it's right to portray that to women as 'normal'."

What irritates Rachel is how harsh people can be. She explained that whenever images of her are put online, someone always remarks that she doesn't look especially good for her age.

"I think, 'Do you want to go back and see what 45 used to look like?' Our attitudes have changed immensely now and I think people have unrealistic expectations. And I wonder if men actually have a different standard of what women should look like in their 40s and 50s now," she fumed.
