Philipp Plein presents star-studded New York Fashion Week show

Philipp Plein tapped big names including Sofia Richie, Pete Wentz and rapper Desiigner to model his new collection during New York Fashion Week on Monday evening (13Feb17).

The German fashion star showcased his latest line at the city's Public Library and audiences were in for a treat as an array of A-list stars graced the catwalk in edgy ensembles, while famous names such as Madonna and Kylie Jenner perched on the front row.

Plein picked the slogan 'Let's Make NYFW Great Again' to celebrate the event, which marked his first showing in the U.S. after several seasons in Milan, and the designer himself introduced the show rather than closing it.

"People always ask me, who the f**k is Philipp Plein? I'm just a dreamer and a believer," he told the crowds, sharing the view: "Let’s do things a little bit differently, because it’s time for changes - across the fashion industry."

The clothes themselves had an alternative, motley vibe thanks to ensembles including a velvet bodysuit with faux fur sleeves, featuring the word 'Plein' printed across in a silver font resembling the signature seen on Juicy Couture garments.

Meanwhile Desiigner strutted out in a brown faux fur coat worn with light-denim embellished jeans and no top, flashing the crowd his toned torso.

A futuristic feel was injected into proceedings too thanks to items such as an oversize black knitted sweater boasting silver panels on the arms and the word 'PHILIPP' printed across the neckline, paired with ankle boots complete with inflated leg warmers, worn by Lionel Richie's daughter Sofia.

Fall Out Boy rocker Pete was the epitome of cool in grey-wash jeans, a grey snakeskin biker jacket and a plastic zip-up sweater worn over a black turtleneck jumper, which he used to cover his mouth.

More glamorous numbers came in the form of a black silk dress with sheer panels and sparkling red flames adorning it, and a tiny black bodysuit with silver sequins covering it, barely containing the model's modesty as she walked the runway.

Entertainment was also an important point of Plein's show as he enlisted rapper Nas and The Kills to perform for the excitable crowd.
